K. Tyler was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Growing up in a large family with mid-western roots she developed an affinity for story telling early on in life. As such, personal histories composed of second hand knowledge have often been the impetus behind her artworks, which explore memory and sequence as they unravel in haunting cycles. Her work has been widely exhibited, and was recently added to the permanent collection at the Danforth Museum of Fine Art in Framingham, MA.

Tyler received a BFA in Photography with High Honors in 2008 from California College of the Arts in Oakland, CA and an MFA in Studio Arts from Tufts University in conjunction with The School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston in 2013. Her projects continue to evolve and she is currently working on the continuation of two major projects including Sense of Place, which served as her MFA thesis work and focuses on New Town, North Dakota and the vast landscape of the Northern Plains.
